PHCC of California Journey-level Certification Exam
PHCC of California offers a journey-level certification open book examination that consists of 125 questions based on the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code:
- 50 Multiple Choice
- 25 Gas (based on a drawing)
- 25 Water (based on a drawing)
- 25 Drain Waste Vent (based on a drawing)
The examination is 3 hours in length.
Certification Categories:

Journeylevel Plumber:
You must have four or more years of documented* experience working for a licensed plumbing contractor. |

Service & Repair Technician:
You must have two or more years of documented* experience working for a licensed plumbing contractor. |
* Required Documentation
You must submit the following documents along with your completed application form 20 days before the exam date:
- W-2 Forms supporting work experience
- Notarized letter on company letterhead stating duties performed and dates of employment
- Passport-sized photograph
For Licensed Plumbing Contractors only: You may submit a copy of your pocket or wall license in lieu of W-2 forms and the notarized letter.
Group Testing
